What sets us apart from our competition?
We specialize in producing pond liners that are made-to-order in our factory in Ohio.
Upon placing an order with us, our Customer Service Team gets right to work processing your request. They send your order directly to our Production Team who, in turn, pulls, cuts and welds together the required materials to produce your custom-built liner in around five days or less. Many of our competitors rely on buying large master rolls from vendors (like us) and then simply roll out the length and cut it off and while timely, this limits your flexibility from getting the exact size you need.
We start every project with the end in mind.
Our liners are made from very flexible materials which allows our clients to build their pond with a shape, style and configuration to their own personal preference. Following are the basic steps:
STEP 1 – OUTLINE YOUR INTENDED SHAPE
Using rope, tape, sand, etc. create the outside edge of your pond
TIP – Tight corners and intricate shapes should be avoided
PRO TIP – Position the pond to take advantage of the most appealing views
STEP 2 – EXCAVATION
Start digging inside the outline from step 1 down to your target depth
TIP – Create slopes or multiple tiers to add interest to your pond
PRO TIP – Excavated soil can be used to build up an area to be used for a waterfall
Step 3 – Underlayment
Once your pond is dug, you must remove any rocks, sticks, dirt clods or other sharp debris from the ground
TIP – A 2″ layer of sand or carpet remnants placed over the soil can protect the underside of your liner
PRO TIP – We sell an underlayment fabric that can be used in place of sand or carpet that will protect your liner
Step 4 – Liner Installation
Place the liner near your pond and carefully remove it from the shipping carton and starting in the center of the pond, spread it outward toward the outside taking time to fill any voids and remove as many wrinkles as possible
TIP – The liner should be large enough to lay on the top edge of your pond to the outside of your layout lines from step 1
PRO TIP – Be sure to have enough help to allow you to move the liner into position without having to drag it around which could cause damage
Step 5 – Securing Liner
The top of the liner must be weighed down to hold it in place. This can be done with soil excavated in step 2 or decorative rocks placed around the entire perimeter of the pond
TIP – If placing rocks around the top, be careful to not drop the rocks or drag them around as this can damage the liner
PRO TIP – Experienced pond installers will sometimes dig a small trench around the top of the pond and bury a portion of the liner in the trench to secure it in place.
Step 6 – Finish it off
Install a pump and filtration system and you are ready to go!
TIP – Wait to add your fish for several days after your pond is setup while running your equipment.
PRO TIP – Fish love plants plus adding waterfalls and fountains help with aeration of the water and also provide better aesthetics.
